HBSE Exam Pattern 2014 for HTET Paper Pattern and Eligibility Conditions

The Haryana Board of Secondary Education (HBSE) conducts the teacher recruitment test every year for recruiting eligible candidates in the post of Primary and Secondary School teachers in the different government schools of the state. The exam is held every year in the February month for all the interested applicants through a two stage exam which includes Paper I for all the candidates being selected as the Primary School Teachers and Paper II for selection as the Secondary School Teachers (Classes 6th to 12th). Name of Exam: Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test

Conducting Authority: Haryana Board of Secondary Education

Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates must be having a Bachelor Degree in Education or any other equivalent degree from any recognized university/ college along with a Diploma in Elementary Education for this purpose. The minimum qualifying marks should be at least 55% in the concerned academic eligibility.

Exam Pattern:

There shall be two papers as per the application made by the candidates. The candidates in order to become Secondary School Teachers must qualify in both the papers of the exam and for the post of Primary School Teachers should qualify in the first paper only.

Paper Pattern for Paper I: (For classes 1st to 5th)

It will contain objective type questions on the following main topics:

Child Development & Pedagogy

Language I- Hindi

Language II- English

Mathematics and Environmental Studies

Total Questions: 150

Exam Duration: 2 and half hours

Each section will contain 30 questions to be answered under the level 1 of the exam. The candidates in order to qualify in the paper 1 should obtain at least 60% marks for all the unreserved category of candidates and 55% marks for all the other category of candidates appearing in the concerned exam.

Paper Pattern for Paper II: (for Class 6th to 8th)

Child Development & Pedagogy

Language I- Hindi

Language II- English

Mathematics, Science and Social Studies

Total Questions: 150

Marking Criteria: 1 mark each for correct answers and no negative marking for incorrect answers attempted by candidates.
