JIPMER MBBS Exam Pattern 2014 Details for Admissions to MBBS Course

The Jawaharlal Institute Post Graduate Medical Education Research (JIPMER) conducts the common entrance exam for announcing admissions to its MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) course every year held in the months of May/ June respectively. The exam for the present session has been already announced at the website of the institute as on 8th June 2014 for all the eligible candidates. The candidates interested to apply for the concerned exam can apply online from the institute website in the manner as prescribe for this purpose. Given below are the details of exam pattern and marking criteria for all the applicants to go through.

Exam Pattern for JIPMER MBBS Exam:

There will be an online test conducted for all the eligible candidates based on multiple choice questions from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English respectively. The candidates should qualify in all the sections of exam with the required cut off as needed for this purpose.

Total Number of Questions: 200

Mark Wise Distribution of Questions:

Physics: 60 Marks

Chemistry: 60 Marks

Biology: 60 Marks

English: 20 Marks

Each question carries one mark. The questions have four options and the candidate has to choose the right one as per his choice of answers. There is no negative marking in the exam for wrong attempts therefore, the candidates can choose to attempt as number of questions as they can.

Mode of Exam:

The exam shall be conducted completely in computer mode as per the Online Distributed Object System Examination as specified for this purpose. The exam will be held in English Medium only hence, non English candidates have to see whether they can appear in the concerned exam or not.

Eligibility for JIPMER MBBS Entrance Exam:

The candidate should be Intermediate from PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) Group with the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying exam as:

50% for all the UR Candidates

40% for SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates and

45% for UR (OPH) Candidates respectively
