The Police Department of Puducherry Government has invited applications from all the eligible candidates to get selected in the post of Home Guards. The recruitment has been announced at the website of Pondicherry Police with reference to the Advt. No. 2453/A1/Estt.I(B)/POL/2014 dated 17^th October 2014.The candidates selected for enrollment as Home Guards (Honorary Post) in Police Department of Puducherry shall be placed region wise in the ratio of 80% Males and 20% Females respectively.

Criteria of Eligibility:

The candidates should permanent resident of Puducherry or should have been its native for the last five years immediately preceding the date of notification for participating in the concerned recruitment. The minimum educational qualification required for the eligibility to the recruitment is SSLC or equivalent passed from the recognized institutions.

Physical Standards Needed:

For Men: Height: 165 cms, Chest: Unexpanded 81 cms, Expanded: 86 cms

For Women: Height: 154 cms, Weight: 45 kgs minimum

Age Limitation:

The age of all the candidates applying shall be limited to the following: 18 years as the minimum and 40 years as the maximum age limits respectively. The following ages shall be counted from 30^th September 2014.

Criteria of Selection:

The candidates will be required to appear and qualify the following examinations in order to get selected in the post of Home Guards: Physical Measurement Test (Screening of Height, Weight & Chest), Physical Efficiency Test (Only Physical Measurement Test qualified applicants will appear in Stage 1: 800 mts run 2 minutes 50 seconds, Stage 2: Long Jump- 3.80 mts, Stage 3: High Jump-1.20 mts, Stage IV- 100 mts Run in 20 seconds for all Males and Stage 1: 200 mts Run in 45 seconds, Stage 2: Long Jump in 2.75 mts and Stage 3: High Jump in 0.9 mts for all the Females) and Written Test of 100 Marks having objective type questions of SSLC standard to be solved in 2 Hours duration.
