AFCAT Application Form 2016

Indian Air Force is conducting AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) for the selection of the officers in all the branches of the organization (except medical and dental). The examination of AFCAT is conducted twice a year, basically in the month of February and August and therefore the application for the same is published every year in the month of December and June respectively.

AFCAT Exam 2016 Details:

Air Force Common Admission Test is the examination inviting application from all the male and female candidates of the Nation. The examination is conducted as per the Citizenship Act 1955 for the following courses commencing in July 2016 for grant of SSC (Short Service Commission) in “Flying Branch and Permanent/ Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty branches.

IAF Vacancy Details:

The vacancy is for the position of Commissioned Officers

(I) MALE:

Branch – The vacancy is in the following branches-

(a) Flying Branch – No 200/16F/ SSC/ M (Short Service Commission)

(b) Technical Branch – No 199/16T/ PC/ M (Permanent Commission) and No 199/ 16T/ SSC/ M (Short Service Commission)

(c) Ground Duty Branch – No 199/ 16G/ PC/ M (Permanent Commission) and No 199/ 16G/ SSC/ M (Short Service Commission)

(II) FEMALE:

Branch – The vacancy is in the following branch-

(a) Flying Branch – No 200/ 16F/ SSC/ W (Short Service Commission)

(b) Technical Branch – No 199/ 16T/ SSC/ W (Short Service Commission)

(c) Ground Duty Branch – No 199/ 16G/ SSC/ W (Short Service Commission)

Eligibility for AFCAT 2016:

(I) MALE:

(a) Flying Branch – The age limit required for this job profile is 20 years to 24 years as on the date of 01st July, 2016. For the candidates holding authentic and current Commercial Pilot License issued by the DGCA (Indian), the upper age limit is relaxable up to 26 years.

The job hunters must be Graduate in any discipline from the approved University or Institution of the Nation with at least 60% marks. Also they must have studied Mathematics and Physics at the intermediate level.

(b) Technical Branch – The age limit required for this job profile is 20 years to 26 years as on the date of 01st July, 2016.

The qualification required is Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) and Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical). The job seekers must be Graduate in Engineering i.e. B. E/ B. Tech or cleared Section A and Section B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India. The marks scored in all the examination must be at least 60%.

(c) Ground Duty Branch – The age limit required for this job profile is 20 years to 26 years as on the date of 01st July, 2016.

For Administration and Logistics, the aspirants must be Graduate in any discipline with at least 60% marks or post graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks.

For Accounts, B. Com with at least 60% marks or M. Com/ CA/ ICWA with at least 50% marks.

For Education, Post graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

(II) FEMALE:

The age limit of the female candidates must be in the range of 20 years to 24 years for the position of Flying Branch, 20 years to 26 years for the position of Technical Branch and Ground Duty.

The qualification required for this job profile is the female job seekers must be Graduate in any discipline (basically B. E/ B. Tech) with at least 60% marks for the position of Flying Branch, B. E/ B. Tech or cleared section A and section B examination with at least 60% marks for the post of Technical Branch and Graduate in any discipline with at least 60% marks or post graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks for the position of Ground Duty Branches.

Dates of Importance:

1) The application procedure starts from 05th December, 2015

2) The last date to apply for these job profiles is 31st December, 2015

3) The Date of Examination (AFCAT & EKT) is 21st February, 2016

4) The course will commence from January, 2017.
