AMRITA Exam 2014 Details of Admission and Selection Criteria

AMRITA Vishwa Vidyapeetham conducts a common entrance exam for the admission of eligible candidates in the engineering courses and several other courses offered by the concerned university. The exam is held every year in the objective modes in the months of April/ May respectively. The candidates who wish to participate in the concerned entrance exam must go through the eligibility and qualifying criteria in the concerned exam from the information as given here below.

Name of Exam: AMRITA Engineering Entrance Exam

Conducting Authority: AMRITA University

Courses of Admission:BE (Bachelor of Engineering)/ B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology)

Place of Study: School of Engineering (Amritapuri/ Bangalore /Coimbatore)

Eligibility for Exam:

The applicants should be class 12th passed with the following subjects to be studied as the main subjects in the qualifying exam: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively along with the minimum percentage of marks as 60% in aggregate as well as 55% in all the above subjects taken together.

Exam Pattern:

The entrance exam shall consist of an objective type paper having multiple choice based questions on the following main topics:

Mathematics (50 Questions)

Chemistry (35 Questions) and

Physics (35 Questions)

Total Number of Questions: 120

Total Marks Allotted: 360

Marking Criteria:

The candidates will be given 3 marks for each correct answers marked by them and 1 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answers marked by the candidates. Hence, the candidates should attempt only those questions about which they are sure.

 Applying Process:

The candidates interested can make an online or offline application as per their conveniences. The candidates applying online must pay the requisite amount of application fee through Net Banking. While those applying offline should forward a Demand Draft in favour of the concerned authority, drawn from any nearby branches of Post Offices/ AXIS Bank / Karur Vyasya Bank/ Federal Bank/ Dhanalaxmi Bank respectively in the manner as specified for this purpose.

Date of Exam: April Second Week

Date for Results Announcement: 26th May 2014
