BEL Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is one of the Maharatna companies of the Government of India engaged in providing electronic goods and services for the Defense Services of the country. The company was brought into existence in the year 1954 at Bangalore. The company conducts a common written exam for inviting recruitment of the candidates in the post of Engineers in different disciplines including the following: Computer Science, Electronics & Communications, Mechanical and Civil Engineering respectively. The exam is held every year in the months of July/ August respectively on the dates as specified for this purpose.

Exam Pattern for BEL Recruitment:

The BEL Entrance Exam is an objective type test having multiple choice questions on the following:

General Aptitude: 30 Questions

Comprehension/ Passage based questions: 3 Questions

Data Interpretation

Logical Reasoning

General Knowledge questions

Technical Questions from the subject chosen by the candidates

 Subject Wise Syllabus:

1. Electronics and Communication Engineering

Engineering Mathematics: Calculus, Statistics, Differential Equations, Numerical Methods, Linear Algebra, Probability and Transform Theory

Electronics and Communication Engineering: Communications, Electronic Devices, Electromagnetic, Networks, Signals and Systems, Digital Circuits, Analog Circuits, and Control Systems

2. Computer Science Engineering:

Web Technologies, Databases, Theory of Computation, Algorithms, Programming and Data Structures, Digital Logic, Operation System, Compiler Design, Software Engineering and Information Systems and Computer Organization

Engineering Mathematics:

Algebra and Set Theory, Probability, Calculus, Graph Theory, Linear Algebra, Mathematics Logic, Combinatorics and Numerical Methods respectively

 3. Mechanical Engineering:

Engineering Mathematics: same as above

Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences: Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Applications and Fluid Mechanics

Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering: Joining, Forming, Metrology and Inspection, Metal casting, Engineering Materials, Inventory Control, Production Planning and Control, Operations Research, Machine Tool Operations and Machining and Computer Integrated Manufacturing respectively

 Centres of Examination:

Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Guwahati respectively

Qualifying Criteria:

The candidates should have qualified the GATE 2014 exam in order to appear in the BEL Recruitment Written Test. The candidates who will qualify in the BEL written exam will be called for the next round of selections i.e. Interview. The final selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the scores obtained in the written exam as well as interview.
