NEET 2014 Exam Details & Eligibility Requirements
The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is the national level entrance exam conducted for the admissions to the different under graduate medical courses including MBBS and BDS courses. The exam is organized every year by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) for all the eligible applicants. The entrance exam is held for the admission of candidates in the 353 Medical Colleges and 297 different Dental Colleges located all over India.
Eligibility for NEET 2014:
The admissions to the MBBS/ MDS courses will be made for all the candidates who are Intermediate/ class 12th passed in the Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology group with a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) in all the above stated subjects for this purpose.
Pattern of NEET 2014:
The exam of the medical entrance exam is based on an objective type question paper based on the questions on the following:
Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Total Marks Assigned: 720 Marks (4 Marks each)
Total Questions: 180
The candidates will be penalized for every wrong attempt in the form of 1 marks deduction
Duration of Exam: three hrs
Short listing Criteria:
The selections of the applicants will be done on the basis of their merits obtained in the entrance exam. A separate merit list will be made for the candidates seeking all India Quota (15%), State Quota and NRI Quota respectively.
The online applications are available for the NEET 2014 at cbseneet.nic.in. The candidates will have to pay the application fee as follows:
Unreserved Categories: Rs.1000
Reserved Categories: Rs.550
Candidates submitting their applications after the last dates will have to pay double the amount as stated above. The online registration for the NEET usually begins in the first week of December to the last week of December. The exam is scheduled to be held in the month of May. The applicants of NEET 2013 will be giving their exams in the first week of May on the date as declared on the website for this purpose.
