Prist University or Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science & Technology Thanjavur Tamil Nadu is a private deemed to be university established in the year 1985 for the first time by Prof. P Murugesan. The main idea behind the establishment of this college was to introduce computer education in the state. The college initially functioned under the affiliation of Bharathidasan University but later added other streams of colleges also under it. The candidates can avail admissions in the under graduate, post graduate and pg diploma courses available in the following main disciplines: Engineering, Science, Education, Management and Arts respectively.

To avail admissions in the university engineering programmes, candidates need to participate in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) / JEE Mains Exam as conducted by CBSE. The minimum eligibility to get enrolled in the diploma programmes is Class 10th passed whereas for all other programmes it is Intermediate passed with at least 45% marks obtained in following subjects: Physics & Mathematics and either of the following subjects: Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects.

-For applicants applying through JEE Main in the university programmes, they should carry the online downloaded hall tickets from the JEE Main website.
