Punjab TET Exam Pattern 2014 Structure and Syllabus of Paper Details

The Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted by the Punjab Technical University for short listing eligible candidates in the post of Primary and Secondary Teachers respectively. The exam is organized in every state separately for all the candidates who are B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) or holding Diploma in Elementary Education as required for this purpose. The candidates who wish to become teachers in the primary level i.e. Class 1 to 5 should qualify in the first paper of the exam whereas those preparing for the Secondary School Teachers i.e. from class 6th to 12th should qualify in both the papers of the exam.

Paper Pattern for Punjab TET 2014:

There will be two papers of objective type having multiple choice based questions on the following main topics:

Child Development and Pedagogy

Language I

Language II

Mathematics and

Environmental Studies

Total Number of Questions: 150

Paper II (For Classes 6th to 12th):

Compulsory Papers:

Child Development and Pedagogy

Language I

Language II

Optional Papers:

Mathematics and Science for Mathematics and Science Teachers

Social Studies/ Social Science for Social Science Teachers

Syllabus of Punjab TET 2014:

1. Child Development Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Children): Understanding Children with the special needs, Concept of Inclusive Education and Learning Pedagogy

2. Language I (Punjabi): Comprehension based questions and concept for language development

3. Language II (English): Comprehension based question in English and development of language

4. Mathematics: Numbers, Geometry, Arithmetic, Algebra, Mensuration, Shapes and Spatial Understanding

5. Environmental Studies: Solar System, Food Resource and Care, Water, Air, Parts of Body, Habitats, Natural Resources, Our Surroundings

6. Social Studies/ Social Sciences: Geography, Social and Political Life, History etc

Marking Scheme:

Each section of the exam carries 30 marks to be distributed among all the sections of the exam.
