UPSEE Exam Pattern 2014 Entrance Exam Details and Eligibility Criteria

The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is the qualifying entrance exam for the admission of eligible candidates in the different under graduate as well as post graduate courses as made available in the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), now called as the Gautama Buddha Technical University (GBTU). The exam is held every year in the first or second week of March respectively for all the applicants.

The candidates who will be appearing in the concerned exam can go through the details of examination including the paper pattern and qualifying criteria from the information as given below.

Name of Exam: Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam

Conducting Authority: Uttar Pradesh Technical University

Courses of Admission: Bachelor of Technology; Master of Computer Applications, Master of Commerce, Master of Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Engineering etc.

Exam Pattern:

There will be an objective type paper having multiple choice questions on the following main subjects:

Physics

Chemistry and

Mathematics/ Biology (For B.Tech (Bio Technology) students)

Distribution of Questions:

Physics: 50 Questions

Chemistry: 50 Questions

Mathematics /Biology: 50 Questions

Total Number of Questions: 150

Total Marks Allotted: 700

Duration of Exam: three hour

Marking Scheme:

The candidates will get four marks for each right answer marked by them while there will be a deduction of zero marks for the wrong attempts made by the candidate. Hence, the candidates can attempt as many number of questions as they like in order to score well in the examination.

Modes of Examination:

The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination is conducted in offline modes only by paper and pencil formats. The candidates will be provided the Optical Marking Reader Sheets for marking answers. Only Blue/Black Ball Point Pens can be used for marking answers in the OMR Sheets for this purpose.

The questions asked in the exam will be in two languages only: English and Hindi respectively.
