VITEEE Exam Pattern 2014 for Admissions to UG Engineering Programmes

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) invites admission to the under graduate courses through a national level common entrance exam for all the eligible candidates. The exam is commonly called as the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE). The exam is mostly held in the months of April/ May respectively for all the eligible candidates. The candidates who have applied for the concerned entrance exam or will be appearing in the concerned entrance exam can go through the details of examination including the paper pattern and qualifying criteria from the information as given here below.

Name of Exam: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam

Conducting Authority: Vellore Institute of Technology

Course of Admission: Bachelor of Technology; Bachelor of Engineering

Eligibility for VITEEE 2014:

The candidates should be possessing Intermediate/ Class 12th from any of the recognized Boards in India with the following subjects to be studied as the compulsory subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry respectively.

The candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the Intermediate will be eligible to appear for all the Bachelor of Technology courses and students who have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Class 12th will be eligible to appear for the Bachelor of Technology (Bio Medical Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Computer Science) respectively.

Paper Pattern:

The candidates will be required to qualify in the written exam which will be an objective type question paper having multiple choice questions on the following:

Part I: Physics

Part II: Chemistry and

Part III: Mathematics/ Biology

Total Number of Questions: 120 (40 each for all the three parts)

Total Marks Allotted: 120

Marking Scheme:

The candidates will be given 1 mark for each correct answer marked by them while there will be a deduction of zero marks for the incorrect answers marked by the candidates.

Mode of Examination:

The candidates will be required to appear in a Computer based test which will be held on the dates as specified for this purpose.

Syllabus of Study:

The candidates should prepare on the lines of Class 12th syllabus as per the prescribed Board of study for this purpose.
