IIT Admission 2015 

IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) is the pioneer institute in India for higher studies in the area of technology and science. Every year thousands of lakh of students give the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) in order to get themselves enrolled in any of the IITs across India. IIT Entrance Exam (JEE): –

The students those who want to get themselves admitted in the pioneer institute of technology for the under graduate courses, they have to first give the common admission test i.e. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). This JEE i.e. the common admission test is held at two tiers, first is JEE (Main) and second is termed as JEE (Advanced). The students have to first clear the JEE (Main) test then they are eligible to give the JEE (Advanced). Central Board of Secondary Education is responsible to conduct these JEE exams every year. Usually JEE (Main) is held every year in the month of April and JEE (Advanced) is held during the month of June. The students those who manage to get ranks below and of 150000 scorers are eligible to further give the JEE (Advanced) exam. The JEE (Advanced) will have 2 objective type papers. Both the objective type paper will have questions regarding Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Both the papers will be of three hours each. The students will have to give both the papers in order to get admission in IIT.

Minimum Eligibility Required: –

i) The students those who have completed their 12th standard or are in their final year of 12th standard are eligible to give the common admission test for admission in IIT. The students must have Physics, Chemistry, Maths as a subject of study at their 12th Standard.

ii) The students can be born on or before 1st October 1990 in case of general category or 1985 in case of reserved categories.

iii) The students can either give the JEE (Main) as their first attempt or their second consecutive attempt only.

iv) The students will those who wish to appear again for their 12th standard exam in order to improve or in order to pass in one or more subject, the students will have to give the exam for all the subjects.

Application Fee: –

i) For B. Tech Exam: –

The students have to pay INR 1000 (general/OBC, male) and INR 500 (general/OBC, female). The students in reserved categories have to pay an amount of INR 500.

ii) For B. Tech and B. Arch: –

The students have to pay INR 1800 (general/OBC, male) and INR 900 (general/OBC, female). The students in reserved categories have to pay an amount of INR 900.

Procedure of Applying: –

The students have to apply only online through the official web page of JEE i.e. jeemain.nic.in. It is to be noted that the students will have to again register online after they qualify the JEE (Main) exam on the JEE (Advanced) web page i.e. jeeadv.iitb.ac.in. The students can apply either for pen and paper exam or for computer based exam for which the students have to make their choice during the time of filling up their forms for JEE (Main).
